In a move to sanitize one of the maritime topmost organization, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and ensure the the right thing is done at the government agency, President Muhamadu Bihari yesterday suspended the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Ms. Adiza Bala USMAN from acting functioning as the boss of the agency.
The unprecedented move President Muhammadu Buhari, which many saw as the right step to reposition the government organization.
Accordong to the directives from the Ministry of Transportation, Ms Usman was immediately replaced by authority’s Director of Finance, Mohammed Koko.
Recall that Ms. Usman was appointed as Managing Director if NPA in 2016 by the president in compensation to her work during the the #bring back our girls rallies.
And since then several controversies has trailed her regime for instance, the allegations job racketing etc.
But in a telephone conversation, Ms Usman was said to have told the reporter that she was aware of her suspension from office, but has yet to receive any formal communication to that effect from the Ministry of Transport.
A spokesperson of the Ministry of Transportation did not immediately return a request seeking comments.
Notwithstanding, Ms. was seen all these years to has repeatedly propagated her reform policies that sought to redirect the organisation, which is one of the top revenue-generating entities of the Nigerian government.
