COVID-19: ANLCA Assures Members of Readiness Of Government Agencies To Process Documents

The Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA)  has confirmed that operations and activities of members of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents ,(ANLCA) fall under essential service.

President of the association who made this known in a statement issued recently, Mr.Tony Iju Nwabunike said that activities of agents will not be affected by the restriction of movement over the coronavirus.

 He also said that hitherto, Comptroller General of Customs has directed full customs personnel presence adding that 
all necessary formalities for processing and clearance of cargoes from customs ports will not be unhindered. 

Nwabunike stated categorically that only customs brokers, freight forwarders and haulage operators who have jobs on the ground that should approach the ports during this period of restriction.

ANLCA President advised port operators visiting the ports to have their company identity cards and  NPA port pass. He advised truck operators to adhere to the existing orderly call up system .

He enjoined port users to abide by all health advise as postulated by National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) including washing of hands, usage of gloves, application of hand sanitisers and maintaining social distancing especially during this period.
