NIMASA: New Helmsman Redeploys Staff In Line With Enabling Laws

The new Executive Management of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, (NIMASA), led by Dr Bashir Jamoh has embarked on a holistic redeployment of the senior members of the staff.

The new posting and deployment was one of the priority burning decisions reached at the end of a management meeting held on  March 11, this year, aimed at driving the team’s vision as enshrined in the agencies enabling laws

According to sources, the exercise would be implemented in phases. and the first list just released showed that Mr Victor Ike Onuzurike, former Director, Internal Audit has been moved to the office of the DG as the Director, Special Duties. 

He replaced Rita Uruakpa, who was appointed to that position a few months ago after the meritorious retirement of Hajia Lami Tumaka, the quintessential amazon and lover of humanity.

 Onuzurike’s redeployment as Director Special is one of the wise decisions of the new management because Victor or chairman as he is fondly called is regarded as a great defender of any issue bothering on the good image of the Agency. 

He has been a great bridge builder as well as a lover of humanity. It is envisioned that his wealth of experience will add the expected positive value to the performance of the new management.

Other senior staffers affected are: Rita Uruakpa, who was posted to the Cabotage Department as Director, Musa Aishatu Jumai from Director, Administration and Human Resources to Director, Servicom, while Ogadi Anthony, Director, Shipping Development was transferred to head the Research and Data Management.

Among the 34 on this list of the first batch, are Odusanya O. A(Mrs), from Head, Financial Services to Head, Internal Audit; Murnai Kabir, Deputy Director, Administration to Deputy Director, Internal Audit as Bolaji Kehinde Bernice moved from Head, Protocol, to Deputy Director, Servicom.

The posting also brought Mr Kurahson B. Inuwa, Co-ordinator, NMRDC, Kirikiri Office to the Head Office Apapa, as the Head, Shipping Development while Hamman Mary switched from Assistant Director,Shipping Development to Assistant Director, Cabotage.
