NPA Loses As Capt. Ebubeogu, Great, Resourceful Expert Retires – Engr. Jatto

Caot. Iheanacho Ebubeogu and some of the dignitaries at the high table during his sent forth party held at NPA Sports Complex, Surulere, Lagos on Friday.

The management of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA has eulogized the personality and contributions of the out-gone and former General Msnager, Security, Capt. Iheanacho Ebubeogu for his to the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, the maritime industry and individuals in the organization, as he bows out from active public service, saying, his contributions cannot be quantified.
This was commendation was made by the General Manager Corporate and Strategic Communications of the organization, Engr. Adams Jatto.
NPA image maker equally added that the agency has lost greatly as one of its best, skilful and very brilliant master mariner retires from the organization.
Engr. Jatto stated this during a sent forth party organized on his behalf Capt. Ebubeogu by Security department of the Nigerian ports authority, held at NPA’s Sports Complex, Bode Thomas, Surulere, Lagos.
He said: “The contributions of Capt. Iheanacho Ebubeogu are not to only to NPA but to individual staff of agency. I appreciate that a lot. I have not forgotten his contributions to my department, Corporate and Strategic Communications department of the authority before my coming there”.
According to him, NPA is losing one of its best. “NPA is losing one of its best. Not for sickness but because of age (retirement)?
He regretted that such material, who would had been a good hand to lead NPA but could not. Speaking specifically to Ebubeogu, he said:”I wish you get to the top of leading NPA before your retirement. But I thank God for your life?He described Ebubeogu as a defined gentleman and a brilliant marine captain who is an encyclopedia of knowledge as far as maritime and shipping operations are concerned.NPA image maker prayed that God should guide him as he goes into private life and consultations.
Numerous others from the agency who have at one time or the other worked or have encountered Ebubeogu testified of his knowledge of the operations and workings at the organization.Capt. Jerume Angyunwe, the GM HSE, NPA who was also full of regret for retirement of Ebubeogu at the young age said when he took over from him as the GM Security he learned a lot from him but was not happy when he learnt of his retirement.”When he told me I am retiring, I told him you are not going anywhere.He came to NPA as a mariner. He was taken to almost every area in (every department of the organization). And everywhere he went to he excelled well”.The current MG security jokingly told him (Ebubeogu); “Oga, you are not leaving us”.To him, he just leaving the public service for private life. “Oga! you cannot go away. I am holding your legs. So whenever I call you please come”, he pleaded. 
While praying at the commencement of the event, Rev. Idowu, a staff if the organization who works at the security department with the out-gone GM Security (Ebubeogu), acknowledged his expertise and knowledge of work and the industry. He prayed to God Almighty grant him his heart desires as he he proceeds for another life after retirement. He equally prayed God to guild their department as this brilliant master mariner is leaving them behind they (the department)will not experience any tragedy.
One of his close pals and a man he (Iheanacho) worked with most of his years at the organization,  Mr. Olumide Omotoso, testified of the stuff Ebubeogu is made of. 
According to Omotoso, a hydrographic expert and the Assistant General Manager Hydrographic, Nigerian Ports Authority was full of eloquent testimonies about his friend and Oga, as he calls him.This hydrographer thanked his stars for working closely with Capt. Iheanacho.”If you are shot of ideas and come Capt. Ebubeogu you will not only gain more ideas but will be blessed. He understands people”.He described him as an encyclopedia of maritime industry.”He is a dictionary of the maritime industry”,
