The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Seme Border Command has intercepted 1,582 wraps of hard drugs (Cannabis Sativa) smuggled into the country through the border.
The Customs Area Controller( CAC) of the Command, Comptroller Mohammed Uba disclosed this in Lagos.
CAC revealed that the items concealed in noodle’s truck came from Ghana by the smugglers, in attempt to escape security checks at the border.
He also said that the Operatives of Seme Customs Officers seized the cannabis sativa through intelligence and arrested one suspect swiftly.
The Duty Paid Value (DPV) of the 1,582 wraps of hard drugs is N30.9million.
Uba assured that the Command Would not relent in its efforts to ensure that no person or group of sabotaged efforts of the NCS and the growth of the nation’s economy.
