The Bill establishing the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria, CIoTA, has been passed by the Senate.

The Bill which is the first of its kind in Africa, among many benefits seeks to bring total orderliness to the country’s maritime industry , especially in the area of transportation.

Industry stakeholders hope that when it becomes law, it will to a large extent bring lasting solution to the perennial traffic gridlock in Apapa, fight piracy and flush the industry of quacks.
