The National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agent
(NCMDLCA) has rated the newly deployed Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Abubakar Bashir as a technocrat, a committed and a home-grown Customs officer, who has known Apapa, the premier Command very well and equally the workings of the system.
And for this reason, the council says that the new CAC will be a capable hand to handle the operations and the activities of the Command to see that trade is facilitated.
Speaking with MARITIME NEWSROOM, the national Public Relations Officer of the NCMDLCA, Mr. Ralph Agbogu said that the CAC, who has worked in different departments and units of the Command including the Customs Intelligent Unit (CIU) of the command. And that this is an edge that would enable him to work well gave him an edge over others.
His word ” He just left Apapa six years ago. He knows the terrain. He worked in Apapa six years ago. He has worked in Post Clearance Audit (PCA) at warehouse road. So, he is not a strange person to Apapa. Six years ago he was the Deputy Comptroller Adminstration (DC Admin). Well, I said Apapa should be ready under Comptroller Abubakar Bashir.
He has been in Apapa and knows the Apapa before he went to Onne port Harcourt, River State.”
