WESTERN MARINE COMMAND DECORATES NEWLY PROMOTED OFFICERS …AS COMPT SARKIN KEBBI ADVISES

The Western Marine Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has decorated the newly promoted officers and men of command who were among the newly promoted of service who benefited from the latest promotion.

Decorating the officers the newly promoted officers at the command in Ibafon Coconut, Apapa, Lagos, the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Sarkin Kebbi advised the officers who benefited from the recent promotion exercise conducted by the service to see their promotion as a wake up call for more task ahead as well as an encouragement t}o do more.
”See your promotion as an encouragement and a wake up call to do more.”

While decorating the 39 officers, the CAC and his management team also urged the ro see this as an opportunity to get more committed to their duties.
According to a statement made available to newsmen signed by the command’s Public Relationship Officer (PRO) of the command, GANGWAY EMMANUEL, thirty nine (39) officers were promoted at the command. two officers were promoted from Superintendent of (AC) to Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC), three Deputy Superintendent of Customs (DSC), one Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ASCIII) and 33 M marine Inspectors of Customs (MICE) ro Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ASCI).

The CAC equally charged all the promoted officers to sit up and report any bad thing happening at the creek and other beats. The CAC, while still admonishing them, reminded them that they have been rewarded with those new ranks and as such, more is expected from them. He advised that they should renew their strength, dedication to duty. The comptroller who was particularly happy dorm them all mostly the junior marine officers who benefited from the promotion exercise at least to the rank of superintendent.

Compt. Sarkin-Kebbi described the whole process leading of the promotion as transparent, credible and was based on merit alone.

On his own, the Deputy Comptroller (DC) Adamu Muhammed who is in charge of Enforcement informed the newly promoted officers to justify the reason why they were promoted amongst the many that Sat for the same exam. He therefore said more seizures are expected this time from the command.

The Customs Intelligent Unit (CIU) led by ….. also advised that there should be unity of purpose among the Marine and General Duty Officers (GDO) i the command for efficient and effective operation .

The Staff Officer of the Command, who was promoted to the rank of CSC spoke on behalf of the newly promoted officers. He thanked the management of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) for remembering them and that the honour given to them through the promotion, pledging to justify the trust given to them by elevating them to higher ranks. He also thanked the CAC and his management team for their moral and fatherly advice to the officers of the command always.
