An appeal has gone to the Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority NPA, to change over the Lilypond compartments Terminal at Ijora Apapa, Lagos , into a holding straight for trucks and trailers.
The appeal originated from the Petroleum Tankers Drivers while talking with newsmen in Lagos.
An Official of the gathering, Mr Pascal Igwe contended that if the demand was conceded government would create substantially more income from the place than it would on the off chance that regardless it remain a terminal.
He said the trucks stop at Orile,Lagos ,where trucks at present stop was ending up too little for the volume of trucks calling there consistently.
Mr Igwe however lamented the nonstop non use of the Lily lake under scaffold space which is currently lying neglected.
On the current order by the Nigerian Navy for all trucks to abandon spans, prompting Apapa, Mr Igwe said it was not the want of the trucks and tankers drivers to stop on the extensions, however the non-motorable nature of the frontage roads to the ports has required the long lines seen there.
He accordingly called for help and support to those wishing to create trailers and trucks parks, in the territory of fund and security.
